PeaceJam reaches out to a diverse
group of young people and it transforms the youth
that become part of it. As one student wrote after
experiencing her first PeaceJam Youth Conference:

PeaceJam reaches in and pulls it

Since 1996, over 600,000 youth
have experienced the PeaceJam curriculum and have
in turn completed over one million community-service
projects to transform their local schools, neighborhoods,
and communities. PeaceJam's Global Call to Action sets out
even more ambitious goals, setting a focus point of
finishing ONE BILLION Global Call to Action projects by
the year 2018.

learning opportunities for all students.
PeaceJam is the recipient of the "Award for
Excellence" from the Colorado Department
of Education for our ability to provide students
the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge
to real issues in the community.
PeaceJam is the only organization
in the world that has 12 Nobel Peace Prize
Laureates working together for a common cause;
our youth. The participating Laureates are directly
involved in developing the PeaceJam curriculum
and the program itself, and serve as the Board of
Directors for the PeaceJam Foundation.
Most recently,
PeaceJam's Nobel Laureates came together to create
PeaceJam's Global Call to Action, pinpointing what they
feel are the biggest underlying root causes of
suffering and injustice in the world today.

PeaceJam is a smart investment in today's youth
and tomorrow's leaders. Working
together, we can address the challenges facing
our youth and educate those most in need of positive
alternatives to violence, drug abuse, and dropping
out of school.
PeaceJam allocates 84% of expenses
to programs and services directly affecting the
over 600,000 youth served. Fundraising accounts
for only 6% of PeaceJam expenses while only 10%
of PeaceJam expenses go toward general and administrative
costs.
