The Campaign for Peace Fund was established to help PeaceJam roll out the 10 year 'Global Call to Action' campaign with the youth of the world. The call is a 10 point plan to address what the Nobel Laureates of the PeaceJam board consider to be the most important issues facing the world today. These issues include:
- Ending Racism and Hate
- Social Justice and Human Rights for All
- Halting the Spread of Global Disease
- Equal Access to Water and Other Natural Resources
- Rights for Women and Children and Their Role as Leaders
- Eliminating Extreme Poverty
- Restoring Earth's Environment
- Controlling the Proliferation of Weapons
- Investing in Human Security
- Breaking the Cycle of Violence
PeaceJam and the Nobel Laureates have called on the youth of the world to tackle these issues with concrete projects towards social change. We plan to inspire and help implement 1 billion service projects by the end of this 10 year Call to Action campaign in the year 2016.
The goal of the Campaign for Peace Fund is to raise $25 million dollars over the next 10 years. We need this additional funding so that our Foundation can grow, expand, and support all of the PeaceJammers as they reach out and help people all over the world through their 'Global Call to Action' projects. If we are to reach our goal of 1 billion projects, then our Foundation needs to grow as well.
The first phase of our campaign is to secure $1.5 million by September 2008. These funds will enable us to have another extraordinary conference in Costa Rica, when all of our Laureates will gather together with youth from all over the world, continue to roll out the 'Global Call to Action', and expand our educational programs globally. We are asking for your help to make this happen. While this number is ambitious, so are the goals of PeaceJam. Dreaming big is what created PeaceJam in the first place - and dreaming big has taken PeaceJam to its current place in history.
PeaceJam has grown to focus on 3 different areas. We continue to develop our PeaceJam Programs which include educational curriculum in schools around the world, regional conferences with a Nobel Peace Laureate held with 500 youth in locations around the world each year, workshops and talks, and everything else we have built over the last ten years. We have now taken on two new areas; rolling out the Global Call to Action, as explained above, and running a large 3,000 youth International Global Call to Action Conference every 2 years with all of the Nobel Peace Laureates on our board in attendance. These conferences will move around the world and focus on building momentum for the Global Call to Action. Each of these 3 areas needs specific funding and requires special staff and tools. We plan to split the phase 1 money as follows:

There are several ways to give monetary support to this fund. The first and easiest is to donate online by clicking on the link below. If you'd prefer to mail something in, you can click on the "Donation Card" link below and print that PDF file which will give you all the information you need. Lastly, if you'd like to help on a larger and recurring scale, we have the PeaceJam Advisory Board for people who give $10,000 annually. They also help to secure future funding for PeaceJam through events, contacts, and more.
